First Look At Netflix’s Drama His Three Daughters
Netflix have announced the release date for Azazel Jacobs‘ family based drama His Three Daughters. To accompany the release date news, the streaming giants have released a couple of first look images from the film.
The film stars Natasha Lyonne as the daughters in question. His Three Daughters tells the story of three estranged sisters who converge on their dying father’s home. An unlikely reunion that challenges the dynamics of the family, the resentment as the three prepare for the worse.
When families are split sometimes sad events like a death of a parent, an illness can bring everyone closer together or the opposite.
From writer-director Azazel Jacobs (French Exit, The Lovers) comes this bittersweet and often funny story of an elderly patriarch and the three grown daughters who come to be with him in his final days. Katie (Carrie Coon) is a controlling Brooklyn mother dealing with a wayward teenage daughter; free-spirited Christina (Elizabeth Olsen) is a different kind of mum, separated from her offspring for the first time; and Rachel (Natasha Lyonne) is a sports-betting stoner who has never left her father’s apartment — much to the chagrin of her half-sisters, who share a different mother and worldview. Continuing his astute exploration of family dynamics in close-knit spaces, Jacobs follows the siblings over the course of three volatile days, as death looms, grievances erupt, and love seeps through the cracks of a fractured home.
The film also stars Rudy Galvan, Jose Febus, Jasmine Bracey, with Jay O. Sanders and Jovan Adepo. His Three Daughters will be in select UK cinemas from 6th September and on Netflix on 20th September.
