Find Her, Find The Resistence In Final UK Trailer For The Host

Today Beautiful Creatures makes a strong push for the Young Adult crown however next month the queen of Young Adult fiction Stephanie Meyer returns with The Host and we have new final UK trailer.

The Host sees Meyer change her focus from vampires to aliens in a story that’s set in a Dystopian future where a parasitic alien race has invaded Earth. These Aliens don’t kill the humans but use their bodies as ‘hosts’  however there is still pockets of resistance still going strong to protect their memories. Melanie Stryder (Saorise Ronan) is one of those fighters, after been captured by the aliens finds herself now a host who hope Melanie will lead them to the resistance however will her memories help her resist?

This new trailer gives us a better look at the films plot expanding on the love triangle between Melanie , Jared(Max Irons), Ian(Jake Abel) as well as the sci-fi side of the film too. Whilst the previous trailer worked on the demographic target for the film, this new trailer plays on action side, with Saorise Ronan reprising a few of her Hanna action moves. Visually Niccol seems to have used his Gattaca / In Time experience to recreate the Dystopian feel to the film from the clothes, the gadgets right down to the matching silver sports cars here’s hoping The Host wont be a carbon copy in quality as In Time or we’re in trouble. This film looks a lot more darker than Twilight , but can non-Twihards be convinced this is not Twilight mark 2 but something a little more grown up, romantic nothing has looks like it has changed.

With So many films out or on the way to challenge Young Adult  crown will Twihards find solace in The Host from the Author they adore? All will be revealed on 29th March when the film is released. Directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca/In Time), the film also stars  Diane Kruger, William Hurt and s Fisher.
