Evil stalks Victorian London in British indie horror The Gates. 101 Films have released the UK Trailer as serial killer unleashes a curse at death’s door.

Richard Brake stars along side John Rhys-Davies star in a brand-new British horror-feature that will open the gates that will chill you to the very bone.

In The Gates we find a serial killer (Brake) has been sentenced to death by electric chair in London in the 1890s. But in his final hours, he puts a curse on the prison he is in, and all of those in it.


This wickedly dark and disturbing feature boasts a stellar cast including John Rhys-Davies and Richard Brake and is directed by Stephen Hall, who co-writes with Tim Reynolds. The Gates makes its UK debut this July on digital courtesy of 101 Films.

Step back in time to Victorian London, 1892, where the city is gripped with mortal fear… a brutal serial killer is on the loose and no one knows who the next victim will be.

When the depraved murderer, William Colcott, is finally caught, he is sentenced to death by electric chair – one of the first convicts to be executed in by this new method, on trial from America… but before the execution the evil killer puts a curse on the whole prison and upon everyone who dwells within The Gates.

When two post-mortem photographers, turned paranormal investigators, Frederick Ladbroke and Emma Wickes, take on a new their next assignment, they become embroiled in a strange investigation with a mysterious medium, Lucian Abberton.

Can they stop William’s malevolent spirit from escaping Bishopsgate Jail… or will the gates of hell be opened and unimaginable terror be unleashed on Victorian London?

The film also stars Michael Yare, Elena Delia, Peter Coonan, David Pearse, Brian Fortune, Tristan Heanue, Matthew O’Brien, and Claire Loy.

The Gates will be released in the UK and Ireland from 3rd July on Digital HD.
