Supressed memories can transform you in Studio Colorado’s 4th feature coming soon to Netflix

Emotions are hidden in Studio Colorido’s Fourth Anime, My Oni Girl. Today Netflix reveal the official trailer which revealing your emotions turns you into a Oni (Demon)!
My Oni Girl is a youth fantasy that unfolds between a human boy and an oni (demon) girl. Directed Tomotaka Shibayama, who is no stranger to the streaming channel directing Whisker Away (currently available on the channel. The character design is by Masafumi Yokota who worked at Studio Ghibli (like Shibayama) working on The Wind Rises.
The film follows the journey of Hiiragi (Kensho Ono), a boy who can’t say no for fear of being disliked. Also spirited oni girl Tsumugi (Miyu Tomita), who champions self-expression and openly sharing your feelings. As Hiiragi and Tsumugi navigate their unusual friendship, they uncover truths about themselves and the mysterious conditions that turn humans into oni.
This trailer does tease potential plot reveals, it also feels it also has many layers to it. That may soften the blow but repressing your feeling might just bring consequences for all! Visually this looks gorgeous and Netflix’s Anime library is looking really good…
Yearning to get along with others and not be disliked, first-year high school student Hiiragi lives in Japan’s Yamagata prefecture and finds himself unable to say no whenever someone requests something of him. Even though he tries his best to do things for others, it never goes well, leaving him with no one he can call a friend.
One summer day, while unsuccessfully carrying out yet another request, he encounters an oni girl named Tsumugi, who has come to the human world to search for her mother. She does whatever she pleases and is the complete opposite of Hiiragi.
My Oni Girl will stream globally on Netflix from 24th May.
