EIFF 2013: Time For Your Final Exam In New Monsters University Trailer

Summer holidays are just around the corner for many university students around the country. But spare a thought for a few animated students Mike and Sully to be precise as they get to take the ‘final exam’ in a new final trailer for Disney Pixar‘s Monsters University.

Entitled ‘Final Exam’ we see our favourite monsters get ready to take that all important final exam that will make them great scarers but as history tells us we know the final outcome. So how do we keep this one interesting ? We go back to here it all begin to when Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) where freshmen see how once enemies become the great friend we know and love in Monsters Inc.

The dialogue looks sharp, the jokes look and sound funny, lots of the familiar or recognisable faces  are still here too keeping the new characters to a minimum (mostly the teachers).If you’ve been to university and had to stay at the schools dorms you will easily relate to this film as the cliches give a sense of nostalgia. Despite Monsters Inc been one of the best ever animated films adored by people of all ages the dreaded veil of sequel disappointment was shrouding Monsters University but the buzz so far has been nothing but fantastic which is a relief. This new trailer might not have wall to wall new footage but we can say its possibly the funniest of all the film’s trailer capturing the ambience of the original film perfectly. Need we say more apart from go see it?!

Monsters University will be making its UK premier at next month’s Edinburgh Film festival  23rd June before it’s  released in UK&Ireland 12th July. The film  also stars the voice talents of Steve Buscemi,  Alfred Molina,Helen Mirren,  Charlie Day,Frank Oz, Aubrey Plaza, Joel Murray, Dave Foley, Sean Hayes, Julia Sweeney, Peter Sohn.
