‘Dress To Kill’ In New Ghost In The Shell Featurettes

We’re only 10 days away from Ghost In The Shell Hollywood version arriving in UK & Ireland, many critics may be waiting to destroy it, we’re eagerly waiting to watch it. As Rupert Sanders vision of Mamoru Oshii‘s cyberpunk anime makes it’s was around Asia to strong reviews Paramount has sent us 2 more pieces of promotion.
First up we have ‘Dressed To Kill‘, a short behind scenes featurette which looks at the costumes of the movie and the Geisha Robo especially. Designers Kurt and Bart (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, Stoker and Dallas Buyers Club) talk about bringing the director’s vision to the costumes. Keeping with tradition but also adapting new technology as these costumes are just as iconic as the anime.
In the second behind the scenes Featurette called ‘Creating The Shell‘ probably another seminal part of original anime. As the Major (Scarlett Johansson) character ‘shelling process’, using practical and digital effects. Infusing Major’s brain and to allow them to plug their consciousness into the cyborg.
There are so many iconic scenes, characters, looks, you sort of understand why so many fans are angry, frustrated, it’s a sensitive bumpy road to take. As we’ve seen and heard in so many videos Rupert Sanders is regarded as a visionary and with the blessing from anime director Oshii, you know he’s on the right track.
In the near future, Major (Scarlett Johansson) is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world’s most dangerous criminals. When terrorism reaches a new level that includes the ability to hack into people’s minds and control them, Major is uniquely qualified to stop it. As she prepares to face a new enemy, Major discovers that she has been lied to: her life was not saved, it was stolen. She will stop at nothing to recover her past, find out who did this to her and stop them before they do it to others. Based on the internationally acclaimed Japanese Manga, “The Ghost in the Shell.”
Ghost In The Shell is set to arrive in UK & Irish cinemas on 30th March. Co-starring “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Juliet Binoche, Michael Carmen Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Chin Han.
