Universal Pictures has released the first Trailer for Neil Jordanās psychological Thriller Greta.
The film stars Chloƫ Grace Moretz as s, a young woman who befriends Greta (Isabelle Huppert), a lonely French piano teacher. Both suffered loss and as the pair grew closer together, s realizes her new companion is not at all what she seems.
The film made its world premiere at Toronto Film Festival and weāre really keen to see the latest feature from Jordan. Weāre big fans of the Oscar-winning director (The Crying Game, Interview With A Vampire, Company Of Wolves) who is highly underrated in many quarters. This is also his first film since 2012ās Byzantium. Also its a rare treat to see Huppert in an English language film. Whilst the Toronto reviews were mixed, the majority of reviews highlighted the French actress, one of the best things about the film.
What we also like about this one, is the Misery (ala Stephen King) inspiration, what do you think?
A sweet, naĆÆve young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City, s (ChloĆ« Grace Moretz) doesnāt think twice about returning the handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner. That owner is Greta (Isabelle Huppert), an eccentric French piano teacher with a love for classical music and an aching loneliness. Having recently lost her mother, s quickly grows closer to widowed Greta. The two become fast friends ā but Gretaās maternal charms begin to dissolve and grow increasingly disturbing as s discovers that nothing in Gretaās life is what it seems in this suspense thriller from Academy AwardĀ®-winning director Neil Jordan.
Moretz and Huppert are ed by co-stars Maika Monroe, Colm Feore, Stephen Rea. Neil Jordan directs a script he co-wrote with Ray Wright.
Greta will be in UK and Irish Cinemas from 19th April 2019.
