In the 1944 they where our last line if defense in the brink of defeat, these boys where our secret weapon and now Dad’s Army is coming back! After 39 years since they left our Saturdays nights, the popular 1970’s TV Show is returning for their big screen outing!Who do think your kidding Mr Hitler or is it Mr Distributor?Watch Trailer…

It is 1944 and World War II is reaching its climax. The Allies are poised to invade and finally defeat the German army. But in Walmington-on-Sea morale amongst the Home Guard is low. Their new mission then – to patrol the Dover army base – is a great chance to revive spirits and reputation, that is until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing and putting the local women on red alert. MI5 then discover a radio signal sent direct to Berlin from Walmington-on-Sea. There’s a spy on the loose! The outcome of the war is suddenly at stake, and it falls to our unlikely heroes to stand up and be counted.

The trailer is simply a tease which last just over an minute part dialogue part snippets of action which show those mainwringisms are alive and well. Quirky, charming, nostalgic which will please fans of the original BBC TV Show however, how popular the show will be on the big screen and with those either knew the show or new to it could end up been a futile affair. On a positive note the casting looking like the strong point for the film with Dumbledore himself Michael Gambon looking the part as Godfrey and having fun playing it too. If all fails “Godfrey Do Something!”

Starring Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Toby Jones, Tom Courtenay, Michael Gambon, Blake Harrison, Daniel Mays, Bill Paterson. Dad’s Army will be reporting for duty on 5th February 2016.
