Daniel Craig In Talks For Greta Gerwig’s The Chronicles of Narnia Film

Daniel Craig as James Bond in No Time To Die

Daniel Craig has reportedly been offered to the cast of The Chronicles of Narnia, directed by Greta Gerwig, which is being released by Netflix next year.

According to Deadline, it is unknown as to whether Craig will come on board or which role he would play. Craig most recently starred in Luca Guadagnino’s Queer and is well-known for his time playing James Bond in the popular film series. This comes after the news that singer Charli XCX had been in talks for the character of the White Witch, a role previously portrayed on screen by Tilda Swinton, and long long-standing rumours that Gerwig’s Lady Bird and Little Women star Saoirse Ronan is also part of the project. However, all details on casting are still under wraps.

Production is due to begin later this year. Three of CS Lewis’s books were previously brought to the big screen from 2005 to 2010 and grossed over $1.5 billion at the global box office.

Netflix has been developing the film based on C.S. Lewis’ book The Chronicles of Narnia since 2018. Gerwig was brought on to direct in 2020. Daniel Craig had been set to reunite with Guadagnino for DC adaptation Sgt Rock but has since exited the project. For a trip to Narnia instead?
The film will receive a two-week IMAX global run during Thanksgiving 2026 before it drops on Netflix.
