Connect In The UK Trailer For Ballywalter

Humanity can find connection and friendship in many ways. In Prasanna Puwanarajah‘s bitter-sweet comedy-drama Ballywalter this happens to Patrick Kielty and Seána Kerslake.

Elysian Film Group have released the UK Trailer , a story two lost souls find each other to share in their journeys of re-discovery.

Kielty is not someone you probably would expect to appear in a film. The Northern Irish comedian TV presenter turned actor has shone in what is his first dramatic role. He plays Shane whose marriage has fallen apart isolating himself from society. Eilen (Kerslake) whose dream of being a success falls apart when she drops out of Uni. Now back home driving her ex-boyfriend’s Taxi which she meets Shane. Over time both connect in friendship as they rebuild their lives.

BALLYWALTER is a life affirming story about the unexpected connections that can change the course of our lives. Eileen (Seána Kerslake) is a caustic, unrepentant University drop-out whose dreams of a successful life in London have fallen by the wayside. Back at home with her mum, she makes ends meet by working as an unlicensed driver in her ex-boyfriend’s minicab.

Shane (Patrick Kielty) has exiled himself in Ballywalter following the break-up of his marriage, but now he’s trying to get his life back on track by enrolling in a stand-up comedy course. When Shane calls a taxi to get him to his classes, Eileen answers and a surprising connection is made. As the two spend time together shuttling back and forth, a beautiful friendship develops, leading both to a moment of realisation. Shane reintegrates; Eileen makes peace with herself and who she really is. Finally, she can stop running and just drive.

Ballywalter will be in UK cinemas from 23rd September.
