Comic-Con Reveals First Doctor Who Trailer

If you were a tad frustrated at the Teaser Trailer shown during the World Cup Final last week, the BBC has revealed another new Trailer for Doctor Who. After all the silly negative reaction towards the show choosing Jodie Whitakker, we get the first proper look at the Broadchurch actress in action.

New Doctor Who, new friends, new adventures straight from the halls of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The promo also teases a ‘New Tardis’, Doctor reaching out to her new companions. Exploring new worlds, generally having fun…

If you missed that Trailer from last week here it is. Overall it’s not a bad promo, don’t expect to see any footage, it’s one introducing the Doctor’s new friends…

New showrunner Chris Chibnall explained we’re entering a new era in the classic long-running sci-fi television show. It’s a reboot that’s ripped the so-called Doctor Who rulebook and rightly so.

“I think there’s a lot of new things this year. There are new worlds, there are new characters, there are lots of new guest characters. New dialogue, new camera angles,” he said. “It’s really so that we can get it to you guys and everyone else in the world at the same time all polished. I really love television when it’s a communal experience … I want you guys to all be talking about it at the same time, and we have things you’re not going to want to be spoiled for.” (source – Empire)

Don’t expect a lot of dialogue, lots of running about, new worlds, will there be any old faces popping up during the season? As for the new look of the Tardis, we may just have to wait a little longer.

Hopefully, these Trailers will get some doubters back onboard, we’re stoked to see Jodie Whitakker in action as the Thirteenth Timelord. You can see her in action when Doctor Who returns for an 11 episode season in the Autumn (BBC and BBC America).
