Colombia Is ‘Magical’ In New Disney’s Encanto Trailer

If you’re going to celebrate  your 60th film, why not do it style with a sing song? In November Disney will release animated musical Encanto, today we get a look at the full UK Trailer . Teasing that the country of Colombia is ‘magical’ , especially one family, Madrigal family!

The film is set in the mystical town of Encanto deep in the mountains of Colombia. Casa Madrigal is located in this enchanted town and everyone in the family possess magical powers…except Mirabel ( Stephanie Beatriz). When the family home is threatened, Mirabel must go on a journey to save them despite having no special powers.

This second trailer gives us a taster of the Madrigals special powers. It also showcases the original songs the film has, all coming from Lin-Manuel Miranda. Most of all this film looks like will celebrate diversity and celebrate cultures and a potentially great film on the cards from Zootropolis directors Byron Howard & Jared Bush.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto,” is the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The all-new original film features the voice of Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel, an ordinary 15-year-old who’s struggling to find her place in her family. “Mirabel is a really funny, loving character who also deeply yearns for something more,” says Beatriz. “She’s also not afraid to stand up for what she knows is right—something I love and relate to very much.”

The voice cast also includes John Leguizamo, María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan.

Encanto will be released in UK, Irish and US Cinemas from 24th November. Then available on Disney+ from 24th December!
