On the 16th January marks the long awaited arrival of the Whiplash the other mind-blowing film (after Birdman) is finally arriving on UK shores and we get a look at the latest UK poster.
You don’t have to have seen a trailer to know this film is one of the must sees of 2015 for UK & Irish cinephiles but if you haven’t heard of this film despite fantastic buzz from it’s American release you must be living under a stone. The film is intense most of all worthwhile watching this one through and like the tag line “Suffering is the soul of greatness.”, You’ll be pushed to the limits like the students especially like Andrew (Miles Teller) your limits to make sure they get the best out of you. At the end of the film you will get the best.
So whats Whiplash all about? Andrew Neyman (Teller) is an ambitious young jazz drummer, single-minded in his pursuit to rise to the top of his elite east coast music conservatory. Plagued by the failed writing career of his father, Andrew hungers day and night to become one of the greats. Terence Fletcher (JK Simmons), an instructor equally known for his teaching talents as for his terrifying methods, leads the top jazz ensemble in the school. Fletcher discovers Andrew and transfers the aspiring drummer into his band, forever changing the young man’s life. Andrew’s ion to achieve perfection quickly spirals into obsession, as his ruthless teacher continues to push him to the brink of both his ability—and his sanity.
The performances are astonishing from the lead two actors, check out the UK trailer to experience a little bit of the intensity of the film…
