Since Pigeon Shrine FrightFest announced it’s 25th Anniversary 2024 line up, there has been one film still to be announced. Bagman starring Colm McCarthy will be that film.

The film is set to play the main screen on  23rd August (830pm slot Book Tickets). Bagman tells the story of a father (Claflin) desperately struggling against his deepest inner fears when a childhood monster once again returns to haunt him and his family. The powerful and sinister supernatural thriller also stars  Antonia Wood, Carell Rhoden and Will Davis.

Lionsgate Films will be releasing the film in the UK and Ireland (possibly in September), released the UK version of the trailer…

Official Synopsis: In the dark horror film BAGMAN, a family finds themselves ensnared in a nightmare as they are hunted by a malevolent, mythical creature. For centuries and across cultures, parents have warned their children of the legendary Bagman, who snatches innocent children and stuffs them into his vile, rotting bag—never to be seen again. Patrick McKee (Sam Claflin) narrowly escaped such an encounter as a boy, which left him with lasting scars throughout his adulthood. Now, Patrick’s childhood tormentor has returned, threatening the safety of his wife Karina (Antonia Thomas) and son Jake (Caréll Rhoden).

In other Pigeon Shrine FrightFest news, Frightfesters will know every event there is an abundance of special guests. That list so far includes includes Broken Bird director Joanne Mitchell, alongside cast Rebecca Calder and James Fleet. Saint Clare director Mitzi Peirone and FrightFest favourite Graham Skipper, who will be introducing his new movie The Lonely Man With The Ghost Machine , as well as hosting FrightFest’s annual quiz.

The other filmmakers ing the fest from around the world include Joshua Erkman(A Desert) Cutter Hodierne (Cold Wallet). Parker Brennon (Hauntology), Tim Cruz (Ladybug), alongside cast including Anthony Del Negro, Chris Struckman for Selby Oaks. Also attending are lead actor Camille Sullivan, Elric Kane (The Dead Thing), Loic Tanson (The Last Ashes), Pierre Tsigardis (Traumatika.) Mike Capes (The Invisible Raptor), Aurelia Mengin (Scarelett Blue), Rye Levey for Boutique: To Preserve And Collect. J.D Phillips (Cursed In Baja), Arro Stefansson (Delirium), Philip da Silva (From Darkness) and Ludvig Gür for In The Name Of God. Buddy Cooper (Mutilator 2), Vivieno Caldinelli (Scared Shitless), Michael Felker for Things Will Be Different. Michael Turney for Video Vision and David Yohe & Matt Devino for The Daemon. Also,  John Farrelly, the director of An Hiabhse (THE GHOST), the first Irish Language horror film ever made, will be ing us with the main cast.

Other returning FrightFest alumni are Jake West, who, on its 25th year anniversary, will be hosting a special 4K Restoration screening of Razorblade Smile. Neil Marshall and Chris Smith, who are contributors for Sarah Appleton and Phillip Escott’s documentary Generation Terror, director Micky Keating for Invader, director Jill Gevargizian for Ghost Shost, alongside lead actor Kia Dorsey and director Brian Hanson for The Bubker, alongside lead actor Chelsea Edmundson.

The list of talent goes on with Marc Coleman ( Club), alongside cast including Steve Oram.  Director Sean Cronin, alongside cast including Sarah Aleandra Marks, Ayvianna Snow, Andrew Lee Potts, and Sarina Taylor, attending with Queen’s Roger Taylor for Bogieville. Director Jon Spiro and Lee’s biographer Jonathan Rigby for The Life And Deaths of Christopher Lee. Directors Justin Hardy, Dominic Hardy and Chris Nunn for Children Of The Wicker Man, Director Louisa Warren plus cast for Cinderella’s Curse, director Warren Dudley plus cast for Fright. Director Jonathan Zaurin  will his cast for Derelict, director and actor Georgia Conlan for Charlotte, with lead actor Dean Kilby , director Hayden Hewell with Cara. Alongside cast including Johnny Vivash and Laurence R. Harvey, and director Elliott Léon with The Freaks Of Fancy.

The First Blood strand have their cast and crews in attendance.  The Monster Beneath Us director Sophie Osbourne, Scopophobia director Alec Owen, Touchdown director Josephine Rose, Year 10 director Benjamin Goodger, Protein director Tony Burke and 7 Keys director Joy Wilkinson. Another ‘discovery’ is Damon Rickard, a FrightFest regular turned film director, who will be presenting his debut feature Never Have I Ever.

The Duke Mitchell team returns , back to help celebrate  the 25th edition with a film party where guests will lose their sanity in a maelstrom of celluloid tinged madness, expect trailers, trains, scary PSE’s, delightful discoveries but most importantly, utter chaos.
