Anime Review – Naruto Shippuden Box Set 17

Naruto Shippuden is a continuation of the anime Naruto, which follows a boy called “Naruto” who wants to become the greatest ninja in the village to be titled: “Hokage”. The anime is based on the manga called “Naruto” who was written by Kishimoto, Masashi.
Story
Naruto Shippuden Box Set 17 continues the events of its previous box set where the fifth Hokage has fallen into a Coma after the destruction of Konoha by Pain. Danzo receives an unofficial title of the sixth Hokage, which he uses that power to firstly name Sasuke a rogue ninja, which causes Naruto & Sakura great pain and distraught. This is followed by the five Kage submit where the five great nations’ leaders gather to decide what to do about the Akatsuki. The Five Kage Submit is then interrupted by a man naming himself “Madara Uchiha” a feared Shinobi.
In the current box set it continues from where Madara infiltrated the five Kage submit and declares a war on the five nations. While this is happening Danzo has made his flee from the five Kage submit. Sakura has recently discovered that Naruto has been suffering due to his promise to Sakura, which causes her to go to Naruto who is in the Land Of Iron to submit her false feelings on him. Danzo has made his escape but is then caught up by Madara Uchiha who has brought Sasuke to fight Danzo, so that he may take his revenge for his brother’s suffering.
Overall Sasuke’s story is brilliant with the pact action and emotion, also we finally get to see Danzo’s strength, but on the other hand Sakura’s story was very unnatural and did not suit the scenario. Sakura’s story felt like a waste of time and not needed.
Score: 8/10
Artwork
The artwork and animation of this box set is good but its not the best as its not blu ray yet so the best quality is not being used yet which it should as it has been shown how much it improves the quality of the entire series by having the animation at a higher quality which is shown in “Hunter X Hunter”.
Overall the quality of the artwork and animation is good but it is not absolutely outstanding where I could just watch the anime for the artwork which would be nice to do, as it increases the anime’s total performance.
Score: 8/10
Characters
The characters in this box set is brilliant, as Sasuke has become a better portrayed character and I enjoyed watching him getting his revenge for his brother’s suffering. The five Kage’s in the submit were absolutely brilliant as they all got to showcase their abilities on Sasuke. Their personalities varied, it also showed that how different each Kage is. Naruto was a very good character as he showed that he has grown up as Sakura showed her false love to Naruto and he saw through it and told her to stop, which showed he has grown up from the past. While Sakura had a terrible character personality with all that monster strength she possess she showed such weakness it was not suiting the her character and showed terrible progression.
Overall the character were brilliant apart from one character which was Sakura, so I believe it would have been perfect if Sakura’s character was completely adapted and more grown up like Naruto’s.
Score: 9/10
Target Audience
The target audience for Naruto Shippuden is mainly for those like action and adventure series with a balanced amount of fighting and talking. The series has a good story progression, although too many fillers, some fillers are not great but some can be better than the story that the filler is taking place in, especially when characters past are used. This series is similar to other Shounen series like: One Piece, Hunter X Hunter & especially Nabari Ou No.
Overall
Overall I liked this box set as it showed a good story progress for the series as it showed that following the series there will be a war which looks interesting as its the entire world VS “Madara” & his allies. I believe its a great box set as there is plenty action, strategy & story development.
