The young actor reluctant prince and heir to the English throne, Hal who becomes King Henry V. Turning his back on Royal life to live with his people things change when his father dies. Now having to navigate the chaos and politics his tyrannical left behind.
This film is looking like it will be pushed for potential Oscar push. After Roma winning big style last year Netflix will be hopeful. If the film does succeed you wonder if Warner Bros Pictures will be reeling after selling the film.
The King looks like it will aim towards a more drama focused film than the war-centric ‘Royal’ films like Outlaw King, A chance to see a young actor take on a classical character study tale is worthy of watching…

Hal, wayward prince and reluctant heir to the English throne, has turned his back on royal life and is living among the people. But when his tyrannical father dies, Hal is crowned King Henry V and is forced to embrace the life he had previously tried to escape. Now the young king must navigate the palace politics, chaos and war his father left behind, and the emotional strings of his past life — including his relationship with his closest friend and mentor, the ageing alcoholic knight, John Falstaff.
The King co-stars Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson,Tom Glynn-Carney,Thomasin McKenzie and Lily-Rose Depp.
The film will launch in select UK cinemas and on Netflix this Autumn.
