End of last month The Peoples Movies HQ had a refurbishment done and like any time something gets done sometimes you have to pack up your possessions to make way for the decoration to start. When that part is done you start moving your stuff back in,I got some new furniture and as the saying goes out with the old in with the new you tend to do a little i would say ‘autumn cleaning’. I had a massive cd collection but alot I’ve not listened to for a very long time, one of those was a hiphop groug called ‘The Goats’ who I saw in 1990’s ing my favourite band Fishone, they had one song i really loved called ‘ Typical American’ a bit like cypress hill meets A Tribe Called Quest band. The song had a opening line of ‘I’m Not Your Typical American’ which is relevant for the person whom this film is about J Edgar Hoover.

Clint Eastwood‘s J Edgar stars Leonardo Di Caprio playing America’s most controversial, enimagtic characters formed the FBI seen by some behind some of the nations dark points between 1950 – early 1970’s. But what is still causing an uproar especially politically J Edgar was a closest gay man who had a secret affair with his right hand man Clyde Tolson (Armie Hammer) but to many he is still seen as a idol especially under the FBI agents who worked under him. In Hoover’s time been a gay man or woman would have destroyed you especially if you where a high ranking person like Hoover but nowdays no one cares, more care go towards can you do the job, everyday we here more people coming out with actor Zachary Quinto been the latest.

The story of J Edgar hoover certainly looks an intriguing story which hopefully will be told honestly rather be sectionalized which could destroy peoples judgement on how truthful the film will be. Di Caprio now in his mid thirties does look like the matured excellent actor rather than the baby faced one of his twenties maybe thats something to do with years working under martin Scorsese! Warner Bros have released 3 new tv spots for the film which is due for release in UK on January 20th 2012 and next month November 11th in USA.

J Edgar also stars Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts, Josh Lucas, Jeffrey Donovan, Ed Westwick, Judi Dench.

Based on the life of J. Edgar Hoover, the man often credited with making the FBI what it is today: an efficient, crime-fighting organization shrouded in secrecy. Hoover founded the organization in 1935 and remained director until his death in 1972.
